Here are a list of currently available and planned additions to Learning Cangjie. Options that are greyed out have not yet been implemented.
Remember that very little Chinese knowledge is required to start trying out lessons. If you can recognize a few dozen characters, you can start using Cangjie!
20 Hour Study Plan
A mix of lessons and targeted practice sessions to go from 0 to complete Cangjie fluency in 20 hours. We recommend 1 hour per day for 20 days.
Lessons a la carte
Interactive lessons that actually teach you how Cangjie works. These will teach you from the ground up how to use Cangjie. DEMO NOTE: Lessons 0, 1, 2 ,10, 11, 12, 14, and 16 available.
Targeted Practice
Practice sessions for very specific parts of Cangjie (e.g. certain Chinese characters). Unlike lessons, these are meant to repeated many times. DEMO NOTE: A lot more of these to come.
Transcription Practice
Listen to Chinese audio and transcribe it using Cangjie. A great way to simultaneously test listening comprehension, character recognition, and character production all at once for Chinese learners! Recommend first finishing all lessons.
Timed Typing
See how quickly you can type out full texts using Cangjie! Recommend first finishing all lessons. DEMO NOTE: Timing not yet implemented. Currently overlaps with 千字經 practice in Targeted Practice.
Dictionary
Look up the Cangjie decomposition of individual characters or sentences. Includes variant decompositions used by common Cangjie implementations and common incorrect decompositions (and explains why they are incorrect). Only recommended for those who have already started some of the lessons.
How to Install Cangjie
You don't need to install anything to use Learning Cangjie. However, if you wish to use Learning Cangjie on your computer or phone outside of Learning Cangjie, look here for instructions.
Settings
Site-wide settings for using Learning Cangjie. This includes things like keyboard layout, display language, and color settings.
Pedagogy Notes
Learning Cangjie will sometimes use wording slightly different from traditional Cangjie educational materials. This explains those differences and why we made those choices.
